Truly, the science of women is such a complicated matter. Some men may even wonder how women are able to handle monthly periods and how easy it is for them to understand its cycle. But once this monthly cycle stops because of menopause, women may be at risk of having ovarian cancer. This occurs mostly during the age of 50 and beyond-- the menopausal stage. Because of ovarian cancer, the reproductive system may fail to function well, as the disease interferes with how the system produces cells.
Cancer of this kind is triggered by the wrong production of cells the body needs. Just so you know, there is a process on how cells are produced --they renew and die in a specific time. New cells are then formed by the time they are needed. However, the problem is that sometimes this cycle goes the wrong way. Old cells stay when they have to leave, while new cells are born even if it is not yet their due date. This activity then leads to the formation of undesired tissues called tumors --a known cause of ovarian cancer.
The common symptoms of this disease --pelvic pain, unintentional weight loss or gain, constant backache, abdominal pain-- can hardly be identified since they seem usual. And so, women find it difficult to detect the disease earlier. This is why there have been numerous cases of women's death because of this illness. So if you are experiencing the above mentioned symptoms, it would be best to go see a doctor and have yourself checked before the cancer may spread and get worse.
