Good nutrition is one of the major stepping
stones that is needed to insure you live a
healthy and prosperous life! This means making
sure that you regularly eat foods that are high
in vitamins and minerals and avoid foods that
are high in fat.
If
your doctor has talked with you about a medical
problem or risk factor such as high blood pressure
or high cholesterol or if your doctor tells you that
you that this condition can be improved by better
nutrition you may need to make a serious change to
your diet.
While it’s difficult to make changes to your eating
habits, even very small changes can improve your
health considerable. The key here is to keep trying
to eat the right foods and stay in touch with your
doctor and nutritionist, to let them know how you’re
doing. Here are a couple tips to help you improve
your eating habits:
•
make small, steady changes instead of trying to make
large, fast changes
•
keep track of your food intake by writing down what
you eat and drink every day
•
find the strong and weak points of your current diet
•
ask
for help from a nutritionist if you haven’t already
done so
Keep in mind that nutrition tips from different
sources can sometimes conflict with each other.
Always check with your doctor first, and keep this
advice in mind. There is no miracle cure when it
comes to nutrition. Short-term diets may help you
lose weight, but they are difficult to keep up. Good
nutrition doesn’t come in a vitamin pill. With a
doctor's recommendation, a vitamin pill can help you
get enough vitamins and minerals, but your body
benefits the most from eating healthy foods.
