With good vision, you may appreciate the colors of the rainbow, the beauty of the butterflies, and just about anything -- no matter how trivial or complicated they may be. This is possible with a pair of eyes to see things clearly. For this reason, it is your responsibility to observe eye care at all times.

Here are some practical tips for eye care:

1. Eat Healthy Food. You diet should consist of more vegetables and fruits, especially those that are rich in beta carotene and vitamin A. These are essential nutrients necessary to maintain a healthier eye sight.

2. Keep Watch of the Eye Drop. There are over-the-counter eye drops commonly available for red or irritated eyes. However, you should not be too dependent on them. Frequent use of these eye medications can sometimes cause long-term eye problems. Likewise, you should carefully read the instructions on the eye drops' labels to avoid overuse and misuse of these drugs.

3. Be Cautious of the Contact Lenses. Contact lenses are not supposed to be worn overnight. After 12 hours of use, they should be removed, so your eyes can get the needed rest.

4. Cold Compress. Before sleeping, you may put some slices of cucumber on the eyes for about 10 minutes. They can reduce eye stress and puffiness.

5. Consult a Specialist. You should promptly consult your doctor or inquire from eye care specialist whenever you feel any discomfort or blurring of your eyes.

The eyes are priceless gems that one cannot afford to loose. Hence, you should take good care of them to enjoy the beauty of having a good sense of sight.
